Colorado River Wilderness Grotto
An exhilarating jet boat ride down the Colorado River brings listeners to a pristine wilderness grotto carved from the surrounding red rocks, for an inspiring “once-in-a-lifetime” experience (Fodors). These MMF signature events weave a rich sonic tapestry of music with one of the most stunning natural environments imaginable, combining the beauty of music with the area’s scenic wonders.
Each member of WindSync, a woodwind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and french horn), will explore the perfect natural acoustics of the Grotto with the unique colors of their instruments. They all come together in Francis Poulenc’s Gallic Sextet with pianist Eric Zivian. After a light repast and reception, more wind awaits on the jet boat ride back to civilization.

Comfortable outdoor clothing and footwear suitable for a desert environment is recommended. Concert seating is in camp chairs, which are provided. |
