Floating Concert II:
From the Top of the Colorado

Friday, September 11, 2026 · 8:00 am – 11:00 am
Colorado River

Curated by NPR’s From the Top, this concert showcases young rising classical music stars ”from the top” of an open-air boat floating down the Colorado River. These up-and-coming artists, anchored in performance by the versatile, “fearlessly athletic” (San Francisco Chronicle) pianist and From the Top host Peter Dugan, share their talents and journeys in their most unique performance venue yet.

About From the Top: For more than 25 years, From the Top has celebrated and empowered young musicians. From the Top’s robust platform includes broadcasts distributed by NPR, digital content, learning and fellowships, and awards. Learn more at fromthetop.org.

About the venue: An open-air river boat takes you several miles up the Colorado River. Surrounded by towering canyon walls, patrons stay aboard to see festival artists perform the outdoor concert against a red rock backdrop. A wonderful brunch awaits following this magical experience.
