Opening Night:
Celebrating 33 Years of
Moab Music Festival

Wednesday, August 27, 2025 · 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Star Hall

We’re celebrating a landmark year for the Moab Music Festival as we unite its past and future. For the first time ever, all three creative directors—Emeritus Michael Barrett, Emerita Leslie Tomkins, and newly-minted Artistic Director Tessa Lark—come together onstage to reflect on the Festival’s rich legacy in performance. Begin the evening around the corner at the Moab Arts & Recreation Center (MARC) with a reception (5:30-7:00 pm) and exhibit tracing 33 years of visionary music and joy born from Leslie and Michael's dream. Then, enjoy a concert featuring classical masterworks that both echo the Festival's inaugural 1992 performance and herald Tessa's exciting new direction.

About the venue: Located in downtown Moab, historic Star Hall was built in 1906. The recently renovated Richardsonian Romanesque style stone building seats 300 people. The intimate size, excellent acoustics and architectural charm make Star Hall an ideal setting for chamber music. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1993.
